According to this theory, different types of nerve fibers transmit sensory information throughout the body, with small diameter fibers carrying pain impulses and large diameter fibers carrying non-painful impulses, such as vibration. By applying vibration to an area of discomfort, THERMAGE FLX stimulates the large fiber diameters, effectively closing the gate and reducing pain, thus enhancing patient comfort throughout the procedure.
